shell shocked

Dame Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop passed away yesterday from a massive brain hemorrhage. Her obit is here if you want to read more about her.

I met Anita twice at our national conferences (for The Body Shop at Home). When I watched her speak, she inspired me. I had the opportunity to meet and chat with her and I treasure those memories (even more so now).

I also just recently finished reading her book, "Business As Unusual."
It was very interesting and I was just recommending it to a few of my friends over this past weekend. I'm still so surprised and numb and not sure what to think yet.

She made a difference.

I too, am so saddened by this news.
I just can't believe it.
I have you to thank, Shannon. If not for you, I would have never have met her myself.
I will never forget the way she opened her arms to me with my camera as I asked her for a photo. Her genuineuity (is that a word?)spilled from every part of her as she exclaimed "Of course, Love!"
What an inspiration. What a woman. What a business person. What a soul.
God bless her, wherever she is.

Sarah

Sorry to hear about this and please accept my condolences. It's never really easy to lose someone we admire (even if we don't really know them), people who do make a difference are not that easy to find.

Sorry you had to come back to posting for something sad... I hope you'll be back for some good things too...

Bummer. I like her. She was like sitting at her own lunch table in the CEO cafeteria. The greedy CEO's and cool kids can have their stupid lunch table. I would sit next to her.

That sucks. Sorry to hear. I can't wait until you come visit so we can have a drink in her honor!

I wouldn't have known about this if you hadn't posted this news. That's sad news.
